The Chewa Graduates Network, comprised of university graduates of Chewa descent, over the weekend planted 1000 trees in the vicinity of Mcheza CDSS within the jurisdiction of Traditional Authority Msakambewa in Dowa District.
According to Justice Banda, the group’s Chairperson, their efforts aim not only to uphold Chewa cultural heritage but also to address environmental preservation in response to the challenges posed by climate change.
“Apart from planting the trees, we also had a career talk where we encouraged learners to work hard despite the challenges being met,” Banda said.
The association, consisting of more than 500 members, also recognized and rewarded the top-performing students from all grade levels at the school.
