The Malawi women’s national football team, fondly known as the Scorchers, has once again made history by securing a place in the Finals of the Hollywoodbets Cosafa Women’s Championship after defeating Mozambique with a score of 2-1 on Friday in South Africa.
Mozambique took the lead with a goal in the 37th minute courtesy of Lonica Tsanwane. However, Malawi managed to equalize with a goal from Temwa Chawinga in the 77th minute. Shortly after, Chawinga secured a winning goal in the 79th minute.
With this victory, Malawi will face Zambia’s Copper Ladies in the finals scheduled for this Sunday.
