Malawi Promoted as Prime Tourism Investment Destination

Minister of Tourism Kamtukule & Ambassador

The Minister of Tourism, Vera Kamtukule, urged diaspora investors to consider Malawi as a prime destination for tourism ventures. She made this appeal in the UK during the Malawi Tourism Investment Forum at Intercontinental London Park Lane. Kamtukule emphasized that Malawi’s #MW2063 vision offers substantial prospects for tourism investments, making it a top priority. She assured investors that their concerns would be addressed, ensuring progress for the country.

During the event, Edgar Chiwaka, Chairperson for the Malawi-UK Chamber of Commerce, pointed out that corruption and sabotage were impeding trade and tourism investments in Malawi. He urged the Ministry of Tourism to swiftly address these issues for the country’s economic development through tourism. The Malawi-UK Chambers of Commerce, launched by President Dr Lazarus Chakwera in 2022, collaborates with the government to facilitate trade and investment matters in Malawi. Kamtukule is also slated to attend the World Tourism Markets at ExCeL London from November 6 to 8, 2023.
