The Malawi leader President Lazarus Chakwera has arrived in the Northen part of Malawi where he is expected to lead Malawians in commemorating Marty’s day in honoring Martyrs’ Day in the picturesque lakeside district of Nkhatabay. Celebrated annually on the 3rd of March, this year’s holiday will extend to Monday, honoring the occasion falling on a Sunday.
In a public statement from the Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Coleen Zamba, the President will among other state officials going to inspect various projects in Mzimba including the construction of the Inkosi M’mbelwa University, formerly, Mombera University.
Upon arrival in Mzuzu, President Chakwera offered words of solace to the people affected by flash floods in the districts of Karonga and Nkhotakota.
