Malawi Pres. Chakwera arrives in Cairo, Egypt for intra-Africa Trade Fair

Chakwera has left Egypt

Malawi President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera on Sunday arrived in Cairo, Egypt, in preparation for the Intra Africa Trade Fair organized by the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) in collaboration with the African Union and AfCFTA Secretariat.

Upon his arrival, the President was welcomed by the Minister of Trade Sosten Gwengwe, Malawi’s Ambassador to Egypt Catherine Kunje, embassy staff, and Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ashraf Sabhy.

Addressing the gathering earlier, Gwengwe highlighted the trade fair as a valuable platform for Malawi to establish partnerships with potential investors. Emphasizing the government’s commitment to expanding Malawi’s export base, Gwengwe noted that President Chakwera is leading efforts to support the country’s economic growth through various strategies.
