The Malawi government has moved in to honor Chiefs in the country. Presenting the 2023-2024 budget in Parliament, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Sosten Gwengwe, said all Chiefs in Malawi will have their monthly honoraria doubled.
Proceeding, the Minister said all Paramount Chiefs in the country will have the opportunity of importing one vehicle free of duty in order to ease mobility. This is a big win for the Chiefs and Paramount Chiefs in particular.
The finance minister is currently presenting the 2023-2024 national budget in Parliament.
