Lilongwe Residents Commit to Supporting Chakwera Secure Second Term

 

Residents of Lilongwe have made a strong commitment to register in significant numbers to ensure that President Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera secures a second term in the upcoming general elections.

During a whistle-stop tour and voter mobilization rally in Lumbadzi today, Senior Chief Mkukula expressed his community’s readiness to back President Chakwera, praising him as a leader focused on development.

The chief highlighted the president’s efforts in providing relief food support to local residents suffering from the effects of hunger, underscoring the administration’s responsiveness to the needs of the people.

Halima Daud, the Member of Parliament for the area, echoed Chief Mkukula’s sentiments and commended President Chakwera for the ongoing development projects impacting her constituents.

Zebron Chilondola, the Central Region Chairman for the Malawi Congress Party (MCP), urged the community to register to vote in large numbers and support President Chakwera in the elections.

In his address, President Chakwera encouraged the people to approach the future with optimism, asserting that his government has established a strong foundation for economic growth in the country. He reiterated the importance of voter registration, empowering citizens to exercise their democratic right in the forthcoming elections.
