Minister of Information and Digitalization Gospel Kazako says high level global events such as the Mobile World Congress 2022 he is attending offer Malawi a chance to learn from other governments, regulators and private sector players in ICT.
Kazako is at the global mobile technology summit which is taking place from 28th February to 3rd March 2022 in Barcelona, Spain and is being held under the theme “Connectivity Unleashed.”
On the significance of the congress, Kazako said, “It is imperative that as a country we participate in these critical global events to align ourselves with global emerging technologies to make informed choices on ICT and digitalisation of our services and the economy.”
The Minister also held bilateral meetings at the Congress with his Zambian counterpart as well as Huawei Technologies senior officials.
The Minister is being accompanied by Principal Secretary for e-Government Francis Bisika and representatives from the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) and mobile telecommunications operators.
The Mobile World Congress (MWC) is the world’s most influential event for the connectivity industry. It’s where world-leading companies and trailblazers share the latest thought leadership about the progression and future of connectivity.
Every year the Congress showcases the latest innovations and the latest technology from more than 2,400 leading companies. Barcelona has been hosting this event since 2006.
