Heavy Rains starting today expected to Relieve Malawi’s Heatwave

The Ministry of Natural Resources’ Department of Climate Change and Meteorological Services has issued a weather forecast for Malawi. It anticipates windy and cloudy conditions with rain and thunderstorms beginning at midnight in the southern region and extending to the central and northern areas. This weather pattern is attributed to high-pressure systems causing the convergence of south easterly and easterly air masses over Malawi. These conditions are expected to alleviate the ongoing October heatwave in Malawi.

Additionally, the Department advises the public to take precautions to avoid lightning strikes. People are urged to seek shelter in enclosed structures and refrain from being in open areas or seeking refuge beneath trees during thunderstorms.

The Department of Climate Change and Meteorological services in the Ministry of Natural resources has released a weather forecast that Malawi should expect windy and cloudy conditions with rain and thunderstorms from midnight over the south spreading into central and northern areas due to high pressure anchoring convergence of south easterly and easterly air masses over Malawi.

This will reduce the heatwave that has been hitting Malawi in this month of October.

The Department further warns Malawians to avoid being struct by lightening by hiding in an enclosed shelter and never walk in open or hide under the tree.
