Joel Kellz-Winner

Malawi’s Joe Kellz, formerly a member of Zathu Band, is brimming with happiness after emerging victorious in the inaugural season of the My Booth reality show held in Lusaka, Zambia. He couldn’t hold back tears of joy when one of the judges, Sokwani Chilembo, announced him as the winner, surpassing Zambia’s Evans Ndalama, who secured the runner-up position.

Joe Kellz and Ndalama stood as the final two contenders from a pool of five finalists, which also included Chisomo Chimoto and Roy-The Songster from Zambia, as well as Kudzie from Zimbabwe, who earned his place through a wild card selection.

As the champion, Joe Kellz, based in Lilongwe, has earned a prize of $10,000 along with a recording contract worth $50,000. The reality show commenced in May and featured a total of 15 participants, with five contestants hailing from each of the countries: Malawi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. These contestants shared accommodations, formed a single band, and utilized a lone microphone throughout the competition.
