The convention elected Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) National Publicity Nicolas Dausi today hit out at the party’s President Peter Mutharika, accusing him of sowing confusion in the party.
Dausi says through his underhand dealings, Mutharika is firing people from the party accused of supporting Nankhumwa willy-nilly. He cited the firing of North Youth Director Kelvin Chirambo and the Women’s director as the case in point.
According to Dausi, he has since challenged APM to declare his position on whether he will stand at the convention or not. Shall he decides to context, Dausi says he will meet him at the convention.
Apparently, Dausi supports the candidature of Nankhumwa, and Peter Mutharika, an octogenarian, is receiving endorsements from the North and Centre calling him to contest again in 2025. The DPP is in infighting mode and this is good for the MCP of President Lazarus Chakwera, whose political house, appears to be in order.
Reacting to the press conference Dausi had, Shadric Namalomba, personal spokesperson to Peter Murtharika described the press conference as invalid saying it did not have the blessings of Mutharika.
