Deputy Minister Nancy Chaola Mdooko announces smooth commencement of Primary School National Exams

Deputy Minister of Education, Nancy Chaola Mdooko has told the local media that the 2024 Primary School Leaving Certificate Examination (PSLCE) today has commenced smoothly, with no incidents of leaks or other examination malpractices.

During her inspection of Makawa and St Charles Luwanga Primary School Cluster Centres in Mangochi, Mdooko expressed optimism that this year’s results would surpass those of the previous year. She noted that unlike last year, when schools were disrupted by Cyclone Freddy, there have been no interruptions to learning this year.

“In terms of preparation for these examinations, candidates were given more learning as well as study time for the examinations. Examination rooms have been prepared well to host candidates, in term of furniture, spacing, lighting and warmth,” she added.

A total of 262,216 candidates registered for this year’s PSLCE of which 127, 521 are boys, while 134,695 are girls.
