Voting is in progress in Zomba for the Mtiya ward counsellor by-election, with a notably low voter turnout observed at all three polling centers.
Justice Chifundo Kachale, the Chairperson of the Malawi Electoral Commission, expresses optimism that voter participation will rise as the day progresses.
A total of 6,459 voters are registered for this election and voting ends 4:00pm.
