In a fiery speech at Kamuzu Stadium during the Kamuzu Day celebrations, Minister of Local Government and Unity Richard Chimwendo Banda issued a bold challenge to Peter Mutharika of the DPP, declaring his political aspirations mere fantasies.
With the fervor of a patriot, Chimwendo proclaimed President Chakwera’s enduring leadership until 2030, citing accomplishments in tackling electricity woes, nationwide road infrastructure projects, and fostering national unity among diverse demographics.
As Malawians commemorated the legacy of Ngwazi Late Hastings Kamuzu Banda on this public holiday, President Chakwera, flanked by Vice President Saulos Chilima and spouse Mary, Chief Justice Rizine Mzikamanda, Speaker of the National Assembly Catherine Gotani Hara, along with other dignitaries, embraced the day’s theme: “Kamuzu – The Legacy of Patriotism, Integrity, and Hardwork.”
