This morning, President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera is undertaking an official inspection tour, marvelling at the construction of 59 houses as part of the security houses project at Mvera in Dowa and the Support Battalion in Salima. These structures constitute a segment of the government’s ambitious initiative to build 10,000 houses for the country’s security agencies.
The construction of these houses aims to ameliorate the living conditions of the men and women in uniform, who have endured substandard housing for an extended period. The endeavor seeks to rectify the longstanding issue of unfavorable living conditions.
Later in the day, President Chakwera is scheduled to preside over the handover ceremony of Mkanga Secondary School in the same district. The school’s construction is part of the Secondary Education Expansion for Development (SEED) Project.
Subsequently, a development rally will ensue, where it is anticipated that Uladi Mussa, a seasoned politician from Salima formerly aligned with the DPP until his suspension, will formally join the ruling MCP.
