Chakwera’s Charm Offensive; Pays Royal Visit to Inkosi Ya Makhosi M’mbelwa

Chakwera

In a majestic display of leadership on Thursday, Malawi’s President, Dr. Lazarus Chakwera, accompanied by the First Lady Madame Monica Chakwera, graced the hallowed grounds of Inkosi Ya Makhosi M’mbelwa’s royal residence in Edingeni, Mzimba District. There, amidst the ancestral splendor, they convened with all the venerable chiefs under M’mbelwa’s jurisdiction, engaging in profound deliberations on matters of paramount national import and advancement.

In his address, Deputy Minister of Local Government, Unity, and Culture, Owen Chomanika, emphasized the vital role of chiefs in achieving Malawi’s long-term vision, Malawi 2063. He highlighted the President’s visit as an effort to gain their support in making Malawi self-reliant.

Taking his turn, Inkosi Nthwalo expressed optimism about the Chakwera administration’s initiatives, believing they will greatly benefit the people of the district. He urged for unity to achieve meaningful change.

Before meeting with the chiefs, President Chakwera and Madame Monica Chakwera planted trees at the palace, symbolizing their commitment to environmental stewardship. This Chakwera approach to leadership contrasts with the previous administration and is likely to resonate with the people of the northern region.
