It was an easy campaign-style day for the ruling Malawi Congress Party (MCP) on Monday. While President Lazarus Chakwera was at Kamuzu Palace receiving Letters of Credence from newly arrived envoys of Norway and India, his lieutenants were out in the field keeping the party flame alive.
In Salima, Minister of Local Government Richard Chimwendo Band held a political rally where he told constituents that the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) government will keep delivering on infrastructure. As proof, he pointed to the upgraded M5 road, which stretches from Balaka through Salima to Nkhata Bay.
Speaking at the rally, organized by MCP parliamentary candidate Gerald Kapiseni Phiri, Chimwendo assured the crowd that the long-promised Salima Stadium would soon be completed. He urged voters to back MCP candidates at all levels, insisting that only under President Chakwera’s leadership could such projects continue to materialize.
