At least 3000 people have been reached with donations in Chikwawa Nkombedzi Constituency. In a working collaboration, Member of Parliament for the area, Abida Sidik Mia, joined officials of the Muslim World League as they donated maize flour to 1500 people at Jombo and Ngabu camps.
On the other hand, Mia who is also the Minister of Water and Sanitation donated additional 750 bags of maize flour to the people living at the same camps. The beneficiaries are victims of Cyclone Freddy.
Addressing the Cyclone victims before the distribution, Mia urged them to consider relocating to higher grounds, to avoid the occurrence of similar floods-induced accidents that regrettably cause loss of life or properties.
After donating to the people living at the camps, Mia also visited Makande Mosque, where she donated relief items valued at K8 Million in line with the fasting month of Ramadan.
