Parliamentarian for Chikwawa Nkombedzi Constituency donated an ambulance and launched a 10 million kwacha football trophy at Saopa community ground in Chikwawa yesterday.
In making the donation, Mia said that the ambulance donation is her second donation since she assumed office as a member of Parliament for the constituency in 2019. Mia said the Ambulance will help alleviate the mobility problems in taking patients to referral hospitals thereby improving the general health welfare of the people. The Member of Parliament has been on top of the agenda for development in her constituency as she recently opened Therere Health Centre which was constructed with funding from the Japanese embassy.
Having made the symbolic donation of the Ambulance, the legislator proceeded to launch a 10 million kwacha football trophy to help the youth be preoccupied with something instead of them indulging in healthy risky activities. On this, Mia says is a pro-youth parliamentarian who has been running activities to empower the youth with skills such as tailoring, driving, and cookery.
Mia who was accompanied by senior party officials said will focus on developing the constituency and that she would be embarking on other projects soon. Mia is also a Minister of Water and Sanitation in the Chakwera-led administration.
