Speaking during the ceremony marking the commencement of construction of Mwaza Stadium yesterday, a function which was presided over by President Lazarus Chakwera, Joyce Chitsulo, the representative of Mwaza West in Parliament, expressed her concern about the profound disrespect faced by her fellow Member of Parliament, Nicholas Dausi. Dausi, her brother in the political realm, has been enduring this disrespect under the administration of the main opposition party, the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), which recently dismissed him from its ranks.
Chitsulo said:
“My venerable brother, the Honorable Nicholas Dausi, possesses a wealth of political experience, yet he finds himself subjected to disdain within the confines of the DPP. Why not extend the olive branch and welcome him back to MCP?”
Compellingly, subtle insinuations from the Minister of Local Government, Richard Chimwendo Banda, and the Secretary General of the Malawi Congress Party, Eisenhower Mkaka, suggest a tacit alignment of Dausi with the MCP.
In a metaphorical analogy, Mkaka drew parallels between Dausi and the prodigal son from biblical lore, advocating for an inclusive approach. He implored party members to welcome and embrace Dausi without succumbing to envy. This nuanced narrative introduces an element of intrigue to the political landscape, subtly highlighting the evolving dynamics within the MCP’s expanding sphere of influence.
Post-rally, Dausi was observed receiving tight and warm hugs from MCP party women, a clear manifestation that he has returned to his original tent.
