360 members of the United Democratic Front (UDF) in Mangochi have switching their allegiance to the ruling Malawi Congress Party (MCP). The members defected to the ruling MCP over the weekend.
Gift Mitha, who spoke on behalf of the defectors, revealed that approximately 360 UDF members have opted to align themselves with the MCP. Their motivation stems from their desire to support President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera in his mission to serve the people of Malawi.
Upon welcoming the new members at the MCP Mangochi District Head Office, Foster Mtandama, the MCP Chairperson for the Eastern Region, offered guidance to these individuals. He emphasized the importance of adhering to the fundamental principles of the party, especially unity, to ensure that the party maintains its strength and momentum in the region.
