After staging a plunk that did not go down well with the Malawian authorities of staging a kidnapping act of one Tonderai Banda, son to Lawyer Jai Banda, in a video clip that went viral and sent shockwaves on the spine of the Malawi nation, Yasin Suwedi, went on his kneels apologizing saying he didn’t know what he was doing and that the same would not happen again. The police netted him and the Minister of Homeland Security ordered his security license for his company to be revoked.

Suwedi apologized. Apologised and apologised. Mea culpa. The Homeland Ministry then invited him for disciplinary hearing today.

Addressing the media after the exercise, Ichocho Power Security Chairperson George Kasakula told reporters that the company is sorry for the video clip and that it will put in place measures to ensure that such a thing does not happen again.

In the disciplinary hearing whose results will be released today, the company pleaded for leniency.

The hearing was attended by Minister of Homeland Security Ken Zikhale Ng’oma, Justice Minister Titus Mvalo, Malawi Police Service Inspector General Merlyn Yolamu and top officials from the Malawi Defence Force.
