Super League of Malawi donates assorted items worth K19 Million to cyclone Freddy survivors

A new broom, so they say, sweeps well. This is true for the new Super League of Malawi (SULOM) President Fleetwood Haiya whom in his tenure he has made a donation of 500 bags of assorted items worth about K19 million to the government in support of Tropical Cyclone Freddy survivors. According to SULOM, this was part and parcel of its corporate social responsibility.

The donation has been made in form of food packs consisting of 20kgs maize flower, 2kgs Rice, 5kgs Likuni phala, 4kgs Sugar,1kg salt, Soya pieces 1 litre cooking oil , soap and body lotion and these items have been handed over through the Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA) at an event held in Blantyre.

SULOM President Haiya thanked TNM Super League clubs, Into Sports Limited and Nyasa Manufacturing Company (NMC) among other stakeholders for their contributions towards the initiative.

DoDMA Deputy Director of risk reduction Fredson Chikuse hailed Sulom for its gesture saying the support would go a long way in alleviating the suffering of people who survived the devastating floods.
