WHY CHAKWERA WILL BE VOTED AGAIN AS MALAWI PRESIDENT IN 2025

Chakwera-Deserves Second Term

By Joseph Masina

Malawians have a tendency to amplify faults when someone errs, yet often hesitate to give due credit when someone succeeds. This reluctance stems from envy and jealousy, as people wish to achieve the successes of others themselves.

Consider President Chakwera as an example. Handful social media critics are quick to label him a failure, claiming he has achieved nothing and is the worst president Malawi has ever had, demanding his ouster in 2025. However, this assessment is rooted in envy and jealousy, not fact.

The truth is, President Chakwera is the best leader Malawi has had since Kamuzu Banda and Bingu Wa Mutharika. When Chakwera assumed office, the nation was plagued by rampant blackouts, crippling industries and small businesses alike. Today, those issues have been resolved, a significant achievement that deserves our pride.

For 21 years, post-multiparty governments neglected the railway line in favor of road transport, driven by corrupt motives to loot government coffers. Chakwera, a true patriot, revitalized the railway, recently enabling the first haulage of petrol and diesel via rail, a more cost-effective solution that benefits all Malawians.

Kamuzu Banda bequeathed us the M1 road, which subsequent governments allowed to deteriorate into a death trap. President Chakwera is reversing this neglect by rehabilitating the road, restoring its former glory.

In agriculture, Chakwera is following Kamuzu’s legacy, promoting the sector and establishing Mega Farms across the country to combat food insecurity. Additionally, the NEEF loans are a testament to Chakwera’s inclusive approach, offering financial opportunities to all qualified Malawians, unlike previous loans that favored party cadres. The success stories from Balaka Stadium yesterday are proof of this initiative’s impact.

This is what good governance looks like. It is why Dr. Chakwera deserves to continue leading beyond 2025. His achievements speak for themselves.

Malawians, let us learn to give credit where it is due. Bravo, Dr. Chakwera!
