Inmates at Zomba Maximum Prison have expressed their gratitude to President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera for reducing their sentences by six months. This appreciation was conveyed during the visit of the Minister of Homeland Security to the prison, where he sought to understand the challenges faced by the Prison Department.
According to a spokesperson for the inmates, the President’s decision was a commendable one and will enable many individuals to complete their sentences more promptly.
Minister of Homeland Security, Dr. Ken Zikhale Ng’oma, pledged to convey this message to the President. During his visit to the prison headquarters, Minister Ng’oma engaged in discussions with the management, and one of the prominent issues raised was the problem of hunger.
