President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera of Malawi on Sunday arrived in Blantyre via Chileka International Airport, where he received a warm welcome from Moses Kunkuyu, the Minister of Information and Digitalisation, along with other high-ranking government and party officials.
Throughout the upcoming week, Dr. Chakwera is slated for numerous official commitments, including his participation in the Chilembwe Day and Worship Service at PIM in Chiradzulu tomorrow.
President Chakwera experienced an unprecedented reception from an immense crowd at Chirimba and Chemusa. During his visit to Chemusa Trading Centre, he candidly acknowledged the country’s current severe food shortage, attributing it to various factors such as natural disasters like Cyclone Freddy and the persistent impact of Covid-19.
Nevertheless, he earnestly implored authorities across different capacities to adopt a servant leadership approach, emphasizing the importance of alleviating the suffering of the people.
