Peter Dimba Resigns for Being Left Out of Cabinet

Dimba has called it quits
There are reports that the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Member of Parliament for Lilongwe South Constituency has resigned in his capacity as Chairperson of the Legal Affairs Committee of Parliament because President Lazarus Chakwera has not appointed him as Cabinet Minister. This is what they are saying.
However, in what appears to be a PR stunt, Dimba in a letter addressed to Speaker of Parliament Catherine Gotani Hara, has called it quits having observed that his committee’s “efforts to provide checks and balances to the excesses of the Executive, particularly on the fight against corruption have proved futile.”
The resignation of Dimba has come barely hours after the ACB Director was interdicted.
However, others say the main reason behind his resignation is his frustration in the wake of the new cabinet reshuffle which skipped him as well despite him whilst harboring expectations of being considered into Cabinet.
