As the Government continues to support hunger-stricken families across all regions, people of Thyolo district have expressed gratitude to President Chakwera for being considered as beneficiaries of the life-saving welfare package.
At least 1,920 ultra-poor households in Traditional Authority (TA) Mbawera in Thyolo district are set to receive lifesaving financial support as K532.8 million is set to be distributed in the area over the next three months.
The package which will be disbursed by the Foundation for Community and Capacity Development (FOCCAD) under Malawi Drought Response Project and CARE Malawi to cushion them from the devastating effects of prolonged dry spells and food shortages. Each affected household will receive K92,500 per month.
