Mzimba Luwelezi Turns Red: Chakwera Promises Prosperity, Women Empowerment

Dr. Lazarus Chakwera

Mzimba, Malawi – It was a sea of support in Mzimba Luwelezi as thousands of people came out to welcome Malawi Congress Party (MCP) presidential candidate, Dr. Lazarus Chakwera, during his campaign stop in the area.

Speaking at a lively rally in Luwelezi, President Chakwera told the excited crowd that his next administration is ready to transform the region with development that leaves no one behind.

He took time to speak directly to the women and girls of Malawi, promising to strengthen their access to financial opportunities through NEEF loans and the 10/10 challenge, a flagship initiative aimed at creating local millionaires.

“We want to see women rise, youth prosper, and businesses flourish. That is the kind of future we are building,” Chakwera said.

His running mate, Vitumbiko Mumba, echoed the message and urged the people of Mzimba to give President Chakwera a fresh mandate by voting MCP in the 16 September general elections.

The Luwelezi rally was part of a whirlwind MCP tour across the district, following earlier stops in Emfeni and Khosolo, where similar multitudes gathered to show their support.

With momentum building and crowds growing, MCP’s campaign trail in the north is heating up—and Chakwera is clearly enjoying a warm welcome from the grassroots.
