In a grand spectacle at Dowa Community Ground yesterday, the Director of Youth for the ruling Malawi Congress Party, Richard Chimwendo Banda, orchestrated a massive rally that drew an overwhelming crowd. Addressing the throng, Chimwendo boldly declared that the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and its leader, Peter Mutharika, have lost the favor of the Malawian people, who remain disillusioned by their previous governance.
Chimwendo passionately reminded the audience of the suffering endured under DPP’s rule, urging Malawians to unite behind President Chakwera in his noble quest to develop the nation. He highlighted Chakwera’s ambitious development projects, including the construction of road networks and classrooms in over 11,000 schools, along with the recruitment of teachers, nurses, and the promotion of public servants across various sectors.
Senior Chief Msakambewa echoed Chimwendo’s sentiments, lauding President Chakwera for transforming the nation’s capital, Lilongwe, despite the challenges posed by COVID-19 and natural disasters.
Chimwendo was flanked by a cadre of prominent figures, including Jean Sendeza, Agriculture Minister Sam Kawale, Deputy Minister of Health Halima Daudi, Minister of Lands Deus Gumba, and Central Regional Chairperson Patrick Chilondola, each underscoring the government’s united front in driving progress and prosperity for Malawi.
