Malawi Police speak on missing persons

Malawi Police Service Spokesperson James Kadadzera

As cases of abductions are increasing in the country, Malawians have been urged by the Malawi Police Service not to panic saying the police will get to the bottom of the criminal acts.

According MPS Public Relations Officer, James Kadadzera, the Police are on the ground investigating reports of the alleged abduction of some people in other parts of the country.

Over the past few days, social media has been awash with pictures of alleged victims of abduction totaling four, raising panic among the citizenry.

However, Kadadzera has confirmed one case and says investigations are underway to establish the rest of the cases.

On Monday this week, Emmanuel Chibwana, son to University of Malawi lecturer Khama Chibwana went missing.

A notice from his father explains that the son wrote a text message expressing that the people in the taxi he boarded were suspicious.

Just yesterday, a notice of missing person in the name of Tiyamike Donda from Lilongwe was in circulation on social media.
