Leader of the House, Richard Chimwendo Banda says the country is making steady progress in almost all sectors despite the numerous challenges being faced.
In his closing statement before Parliament rose sine die today, Chimwendo Banda emphasized the progress government has made in addressing ongoing electricity shortages, recruiting over 6700 medical personnel, enlisting more than 4000 supplementary teachers, and extending tuition support to 25000 students, up from 13000.
Chimwendo Banda pointed out that the current government has also improved the welfare of public employees by introducing medical assistance programs and special allowances within the context of the new salary structure.
Said Chimwendo Banda: “Malawians should not despair, challenges will always be there but if you have a leader like President Lazarus Chakwera who is focused and determined then you are assured that he will eventually provide the solutions.”
