Kampondeni; will continue to write Chakwera's speeches

Following the removal of Sean Kampondeni as the Communications Director at State House, the presidential press secretary Anthony Kasunda has announced that President Chakwera has appointed Kent Mphepo as his replacement.

“The general public is hereby informed that His Excellency Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, President of the Republic of Malawi has removed Mr. Sean Kampondeni as State House Director of Communications and appointed Mr. Kent Mpepo as his replacement.”

Of Kent Mphepo, Kasunda described him as a ‘social and behavioral change communications expert.’   Of Kampondeni, Kasunda said the President’s son-in-law will continue to work as “the President’s executive assistant and Speechwriter in the office of the president and will be assigned other duties therein going forward.”

There are speculations he may be appointed as the Chief of Staff of State House residences.
