DPP drowns in a Sea of Blatant Lies, Exposed for All to See: Case of Nsanje hypocrisy

Fuel Haulage arriving via train from Mozambique

In a spectacular display of political theater, the fragmented and toothless opposition, once led by Kondwani Nankhumwa, has plunged deeper into the abyss of deception, with their credibility now in tatters. When Nankhumwa, then the Democratic Progressive Party’s (DPP) embattled Leader of Opposition, faced half-hearted accusations of inactivity, envious opportunists salivated at the thought of replacing him, boasting they would lead the charge with greater vigor accusing Nankhumwa of being less combative.

Fast forward to today: Nankhumwa’s resignation opened the floodgates for George Chaponda and his underlings to seize the helm. Instead of rallying their forces with substance and integrity, they’ve turned the DPP into a breeding ground of deceit, a veritable “devil’s workshop.” Now, at every juncture, they bombard the Malawian people with farcical lies, hoping to steal hearts and minds ahead of the 2025 elections.

But this embarrassing strategy reeks of desperation. Malawians, ever discerning, now realize the DPP has no business aspiring for power in the near future. Their latest debacle? In an astonishing display of sheer audacity, the opposition failed to acknowledge President Chakwera’s monumental feat: the rehabilitation of the Nsanje rail line and the historic transportation of fuel from Beira to Nsanje — a feat that hadn’t been seen in over 41 years. Instead of offering due praise, they peddled a preposterous claim that the train carried molasses, not fuel!

Even as viral videos surfaced online showing fuel being offloaded from train wagons to truck tankers en route to NOCMA, the DPP shamelessly clung to their ludicrous narrative. Molasses, they insisted! Such brazen dishonesty is exactly why this faction of leaders, soaked in lies, is doomed to languish in opposition for years to come. With their credibility thoroughly dismantled, one thing is certain: President Chakwera is poised to remain at the helm, a testament to the opposition’s failure to engage in anything but hollow rhetoric.
