The situation remains chaotic as the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) declares the commencement of its campaign period in preparation for an upcoming elective convention at the Natural Resources College in Lilongwe.
The Secretary General of the party, Grezelder Jeffrey, reported that two individuals have expressed their intent to vie for the presidency, while four others have shown interest in competing for the position of Vice President.
Jeffrey clarified that the party is taking this step to comply with a court order. Addressing her purported removal as Secretary General, based on a letter allegedly from the party’s president, Professor Peter Mutharika, Jeffrey asserted that she is not aware of any such removal.
