Lilongwe, Malawi – Political analyst Lyson Sibande has cast doubt on the readiness and suitability of Professor Peter Mutharika, the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) presidential candidate, ahead of Malawi’s 16 September general elections.
Speaking shortly after Mutharika submitted his nomination papers to the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) in Lilongwe, Sibande told reporters that the former president showed signs of frailty — both physically and in his engagement with the press.
