Minister of Homeland Security, Ken Zikhale Ng’oma, expressed admiration for the dedication of Member of Parliament for Chikwawa Mkombedzi, Abida Sidik Mia, in prioritizing the welfare of her constituents amid the ongoing development initiatives spearheaded by President Lazarus Chakwera in the Chikwawa Mkombedzi constituency.
Addressing people yesterday during the inauguration of the newly constructed Miseu Folo Police Unit facilitated by the legislator, Ng’oma emphasized the crucial role of security in fostering the advancement of Malawi.
“I am excited with the facility which a Member of Parliament for this area has constructed. This is a gift to my Ministry and will help to improve the security of this community and the country at large.
This beautiful Police Unit is one of the fruits of President Chakwera’s decision to raise the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) from K40 million to K100 million. As I commend Abida Mia (MP) for a job well done and her commitment towards development of Chikwawa Mkombedzi, I must also salute our President for his visionary leadership” Said Ng’oma.
Handing over the Police Unit, Parliamentarian Abida Sidik Mia who is also Minister of Water and Sanitation described security as a one of the priorities in development of the country.
Added Mia; “I decided to priotize security as it is one of the pillars for development of our beautiful Malawi. I commend President Chakwera for raising the fund for the development of constituencies to the whopping K100 million which has seen the construction of this Miseu Folo Police Unit”
The construction of Miseu Folo Police Unit has used over K30 million from the Constituency Development Fund and is expected to improve the security in Chikwawa district.
