Professor Gadama fined 3.4 million for operating Universities illegally

Should Cypress and Jerusalem Universities be your esteemed alma maters, trepidation may be warranted, as the academic credentials garnered from these institutions appear not only devoid of substance but also rendered utterly inconsequential.

The Principal Resident Magistrate Court in Lilongwe, in a decisive move, has mandated 55-year-old Professor Gusto Gadama to pay a fine of K3.4 million for illicitly operating higher learning establishments and dispensing unauthorized higher learning qualifications.

Having faced conviction just last week, Gadama stands accused of orchestrating the operations of unregistered universities, namely Cypres and Jerusalem Universities, thereby violating the tenets of the higher learning act.

In his judgement, Principal Resident Magistrate Rodrick Michongwe asserted that Gadama’s actions had subverted the foundations of higher education within the nation, duping individuals into believing they had acquired bona fide qualifications when, in reality, they possessed none.
