Only One Man Can Finish the Job”: Chakwera Crowned Malawi’s Messiah of Development in Fiery MCP Rally

LILONGWE – In a rally crackling with political fire and patriotic fanfare, Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Secretary General Richard Chimwendo Banda made one thing explosively clear: President Lazarus Chakwera is the only man worthy of steering Malawi beyond September 16.

Speaking to a charged crowd at Chatata Ground in Lilongwe City Central, Chimwendo thundered that Chakwera is not just a presidential candidate—he is Malawi’s development architect, a leader who has already laid the foundation for a new Malawi and must now be trusted to finish what he started.

“This is not the time for experiments,” he declared. “Chakwera has proven with action, not just words, that he cares deeply about transforming this nation. From infrastructure to education, healthcare to roads—you name it, Chakwera has delivered.”

The rally, a show of strength and unity by the MCP, carried a dramatic message: Malawians must not gamble with their future by choosing smooth-talking political pretenders. Chimwendo pleaded with voters to back Chakwera, along with MCP Members of Parliament and councillors, to ensure the continuation of national progress.

Adding to the political theatre, Lilongwe Msozi MP Sosten Gwengwe delivered a sharp jab at opposition candidates, branding them as “political illusionists” peddling sugar-coated lies to mislead the people. “Don’t be fooled,” he warned. “These people don’t care about development—they care about power.”

As the crowd roared in approval, the message from the MCP brass rang loud and clear: This election is not just a vote—it’s a choice between real progress and reckless promises. And according to them, only Chakwera holds the master key to Malawi’s future.
