Attorney General Thabbo Chakaka Nyirenda announced yesterday that an application has been submitted to suspend the High Court’s decision that nullified Brigadier General Charles Kalumo’s appointment as the Director General of the Department of Immigration and Citizenship Services.
Emmanuel Lawyer, the spokesperson for the Attorney General’s Office, stated that this application is pending an appeal to the Supreme Court of Appeal.
This development follows the High Court’s ruling, which declared Kalumo’s appointment illegal and unconstitutional, mandating that he immediately vacate the office of Director General, among other directives.
