Malawi Crushed 4-0 by Kenya’s Harambe Stars in Four-Nation Tournament

Malawi outclassed

In a stunning display of dominance, Kenya’s Harambe Stars delivered a crushing blow to Malawi’s national soccer pride, the Flames, in a merciless 4-0 rout on their home turf during a four-nation tournament.

With a lightning-fast start, Kenya struck twice within the opening six minutes, signaling a nightmare ahead for the hapless hosts. Adding insult to injury, Malawi squandered a golden opportunity to narrow the gap with a penalty kick, only to see it thwarted by the opposing goalkeeper.

As hopes of a comeback dwindled, the Flames were dealt a devastating blow in the closing stages of the match, conceding two more goals to seal their humiliation. Faced with the unbearable spectacle unfolding before them, disillusioned supporters began to exit the stadium prematurely, unable to bear witness to such a dismal performance.

Among the four competing teams—Malawi, Kenya, Zambia, and Zimbabwe—Zimbabwe emerged victorious earlier in the day, triumphing over Zambia in a nail-biting 6-5 penalty shootout following a 2-2 draw. Consequently, Zimbabwe advances to the finals against Kenya, while Malawi will vie for the third-place spot in a battle of redemption.
